My practice:
As a painter I specialize in oils. I have fallen in love with landscapes. Participially in sunset/sunrises/ cloud systems, as you can see in my |Blanketed by Grace| Collection
Landscapes humble me when I paint them. I am only creating a view portraying what God has already created. He gets the glory for the beauty in my paintings as well as my talent. I hone in on that talent and sharpen my skill by finding my inspiration in nature around me. I take the time to study every landscape, every detail: shadows, shapes lines, color, angles… I take this knowledge/inspiration into my practice. While painting landscapes there are these moments of big magic that coming out. It is like these little spaces, different universe if you will, that just appear out of one simple brush stoke! The stroke, the colors, the shapes they make, create these universes that take the viewer hostage in curiousness. The viewer can’t stop looking at them. They can’t stop falling in to this universe, is it somewhere that feels familiar? Is it somewhere that you fear? These emotions and these moments for me as the artist are like drugs. I crave these moments were universes are created through my hands and these emotions we crave as viewers to be engulfed by emotions a painting can bring.
