‘Let Your Light Shine Collection’
Life gets hard, busy and even downright brutal at times. In these times it is very easy to lose sight of our desires and passions. We get in a rut of just trying to keep your head up and get by. Our light is dimmed… I believe strongly after going through one of these times myself, that it is in these times that we need our passions, hobbies and support the most. We need self-love, we need to be present and we need to understand our own minds in order to reset them.
My painting is my form of meditation. I am able to be present in myself and in my work. I am not thinking about the load of laundry that I restarted for the 3rd time or when I'm going to go to have the grocery store. Just as you do in other forms of meditation, I recite personal mantras while paint (and any other time I need a reminder.) These mantras (titles of paintings) help me rewire my brain from all the negative, untrue things have been reciting while in these dark times of life. I paint when I'm feeling anxious, angry, worried, sad, or even joyful, happy, content. Doing and sharing my passions has taught me to love myself. With self-love comes the desire to be the best version of yourself.
I urge each one of you to do what makes your heart light up! Do it for you, do it to find yourself and then when you find that light, share it with the world in hopes someone else will be inspired to find love for themselves!
